Brothers,

As we continue through the year, let’s take a moment to reflect on the work we have done for others and the progress that we’ve made as individuals. The work that we do with the Lodge helps others but it also helps us in our own development as individuals, and that could sometimes be hard to remember while providing service.

This year Lowwapaneu Lodge sent 9 youth delegates to the first ever NE-5 Conclave hosted at Forrestburg Scout Reservation by Na Tsi Hi Lodge 71. The weekend was filled with tons of shows, trainings, activities, competitions, and fellowship.

The weekend started out with a nice show and a cracker barrel. The food at this conclave was great. According to Bobby Hricko, the food was “Best food on this side of the NY border.” With the end of the night approaching near, the contingent went to sleep preparing for the day ahead.

Let’s take a moment to remember who it was that called us to the service that we perform today. We were chosen through elections by nonmembers in an election that was directed by members of our lodge. While we may not realize it, the role that these elections play in our lodge is paramount.

I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all of our brothers who have served in the June Ordeal as elangomats. The role that these individuals play in our lodge is crucial, and it is one that we cannot overlook. New members of our lodge are the strength of our organization and the first people they interact with when they begin their Ordeal process is the elangomat of their clan.
