Officer and Advisor Blogs

In recent years, youth membership in the Order of the Arrow has declined significantly throughout the nation. This has impacted lodges with their ability to support councils and deliver program.

The Order must grow, alongside the Scouting movement, to achieve its purpose. The best way to do this is through supporting a “High Performing Lodge” in each council. To help achieve this aim, the National OA Committee approved several significant policy changes at their recent meeting. The following changes take effect immediately:

Brothers,

I hope you all are enjoying this summer as much as I am! Many great things are happening within our lodge and within our camps. With 2 centennial anniversaries to celebrate, we are paving our path into a new century for our camps. I’d also like to encourage all of you to keep the principles of our Order alive in your troops. A good way to do this is to strive for the OA in Camp Award at Goose Pond this summer season.

Brothers,

Thank you for all the service you've provided so far this season. All the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Scouters that pass through Goose Pond and Camp Acahela benefit from your service. How amazing it is that our small acts of service can aid in the experiences of countless individuals that we may never meet.

New Year, New Officers, a New approach to the Order of the Arrow program.

Come out to a Meeting , to one of our events and give us a try!

Brothers,

Last year was a big year in Lowwapaneu’s history; we celebrated our silver (25th) anniversary! However, with the anniversary now behind us, the question is presented: what comes next? This is what our 2017 theme, Paving the way to 50! , is all about. We as the officers want to lay the groundwork for the next 25 successful years of Lowwapaneu Lodge.
